Re: Downloading whole HTTP directories? |
Not really. Yes, the URL works (and boy is that non-obvious), but the FTP server doesn't want to give out files. Here's the FTP listing from that directory:
ftp> dir

Note that all of the .flac files have no permissions.
So, my question still stands. Is there an HTTP downloader that will work in this environment?

Re: Downloading whole HTTP directories? |
I assume this is the show in question?
http://www.archive.org/details/jmraz2008-03-23.flacyour 1st post did not have a link to the show.
this show is a special case. the show is not downloadable right now, yes you are correct, the flac files do not have the permissions to be downloaded because the show failed the flac integrity check (track 2 had a problem)
http://www.us.archive.org/log_show.php?task_id=29692607so I will have the uploader fix this asap.
as far as your other question, on a regular show:
http://www.archive.org/details/jm2003-01-15.shnfyou can do two things:
1. Click 'whole directory' and it will start saving a 'zip-on-the-fly' file. If the connection is interupted for some reason, you'll have to start over.
2. my favorite: use a download manager to queue up all the lossless tracks and it will do it for you in a row and very little effort on your end. I use firefox browser and so can use the best utility for this: DownThemAll! (Freeware)
http://www.downthemall.net/there are other internet-explorer OK download managers (such as Get Right: (costs$$)
http://getright.com/I hope this answers your questions! plus, great taste in music (Jason Mraz). I've taped him since the beginning of his career. many good gems on here of his!
